SELECTED PROJECT:
Midway Volunteer Fire Station
The City of Midway wanted their first public
building to be the focal point of their emerging town, so they
hired Johnson/Peterson Architects to design their community
fire station. The 3,225 SF building features two apparatus
bays, a large communications/training room and a full kitchen.
The architect utilized low maintenance building materials such
as split-faced masonry and used glass block windows for security
reasons for this volunteer fire station. Johnson/Peterson received
two design awards for this unique fire station that was completed
in 1989 at a construction cost of $224, 890.
