FEATURED PROJECT:
Watkins Engineers and Construction
Watkins Engineers & Constructors is a
construction firm with major projects across the nation. They
have worked with architectural firms of all size, type and
quality. They chose Johnson Peterson Architects because of
the relationships and respect developed during recent projects
for which both firms were retained.
Johnson Peterson assisted Watkins in the site selection process,
permitting, design and construction administration. The 50,000
SF headquarters was designed, permitted, built and occupied
in just 14 months; a result made possible by trust, cooperation,
experience and ability.
Because the site is between Interstate 10 and a scenic pond,
Johnson Peterson proposed “pulling” the 3 story
structure into the sloping site, turning its back on the noisy
highway and allowing maximum office exposure toward the pond.
This also provided for the primary building entrance at the
middle level which has enhanced employee circulation to the
point that almost nobody uses the elevator!
