FEATURED PROJECT:

General Dynamics

The General Dynamics Corporation chose Johnson/Peterson Architects to design a 93,000 sf electronics manufacturing plant in Tallahassee which produces radio equipment for the US government. The company employes a staff of over 300 people including engineers, electronics designers, fabricators, administrators and managerial staff. Because staffing varies with each phase of product development, Johnson/Peterson chose to use office systems furniture to create individual work spaces for the many engineers and designers on site while permitting total flexibility for future reorganization. Supplementing the open spaces are standard offices as well as large, well equipped training rooms required for seminars and continual employee training. The highly technical nature of production also required expansive plant space which could accommodate the specialized computerized robots used to manufacture radio components.
