SELECTED PROJECT:
While replacing substandard food sales booths scattered around the Fairgrounds, the Owner asked the Architects to clarify pedestrian circulation around the exhibition buildings and midway and to provide simple vehicular service access.
The solution provides a centrally located food “mall” flanked by two major pedestrian promenades, separating parallel rows of exhibition buildings. Spaces between the new food booths encourage spontaneous crossovers between exhibits, allow service access and enhance food sales.
The design is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional farm building, combined with the vitality and excitement of a rural county fair.
