SELECTED PROJECT:
Florida A&M Student Union Renovation
The Student Union Renovation at Florida A & M
University required an accelerated A/E schedule to avoid reversion
of construction funds. The renovation included the campus bookstore,
post office, convenience store, staff offices, banquet and
food service facilities, snack bar, bowling alley, career center,
and student government offices.
The 99,000 SF complex consists of five buildings, four of
which were gutted and re-planned. The fifth was a new building
housing offices of Business Services, Student Publications
and Student Activities. The clock tower/campanile was added
to reinforce the Student Union’s role as the “pivot
point” of campus life.
