SELECTED PROJECT:
Federal Detention Center at Federal Correctional Institution
JPA designed the federal “jail” to
accommodate persons who were indicted but not yet adjudicated.
The facility included medium and high security areas, solitary
confinement, substantial evaluation and diagnostic offices.
The design incorporated the use of three wings segregated by
Security levels. Originally designed for an all male, the 10.7
million dollar building was completed on schedule and under-budget.
The Project Manger for the Federal Bureau of Prisons called
it a “state of the art facility” equal to any in
America.
