FEATURED PROJECT:
Jefferson County Emergency Operation Center
The Jefferson County Emergency Operation Center is a 2,400 square foot building located in Monticello Florida and will be complete in June 2009.
This building houses the County’s Division of Emergency Management with four full time employees and can accommodate an additional 24 personnel when fully activated during a state or county disaster. The building is protected from direct hit disasters with redundant back up systems which include; an emergency power generator, a back up water storage tank and well, backup HVAC systems, and an exterior building envelope capable of withstanding 160 m.p.h. force winds. The EOC is designed with a central information communication hub which provides direct communication to the parent Florida EOC located in Tallahassee Florida in the case of an Emergency.
The Jefferson County EOC uses many of the same new design standards that were instituted in Tallahassee EOC. This project was designed in accordance with FEMA and State of Florida Department of Emergency Management Standards.
