John Lane, AAIA | Corporate VP & Senior Project Manager

Since graduation, John has spent considerable time traveling and working abroad. Having lived in Norway for about a year, John became a keen student of Scandinavian vernacular and modernist architecture. He later moved to the Seychelles Islands in the Indian Ocean to master plan and design a waterfront project incorporating the vernacular pattern language into a modern mixed-use marina complex. While there, he became a registered architect and established his architectural practice. He made full use of the opportunity by advancing his credentials as an expert on island vernacular and colonial architecture. As part of his continuing quest for personal and professional growth, he returned to the United States and began an architectural career in large-scale development projects with Urban Design Group in Atlanta. Considerable experience was gained working on hospitality projects ranging from restaurants to casinos as well as corporate projects including mid-rise office developments and office/corporate campuses.
John’s tenure at JPA began in 2003 and continues today, where he currently focuses on retail, hospitality, multi-family residential, as well as other commercial projects. Due to his exposure to tourist-oriented development, John is currently entrusted with the task of expanding the JPA portfolio to include luxury development in tropical destinations.
Most of his time away from work is spent on travel and personal design projects. He continues on his quest to see and experience as much of the world as possible. His fascination with modern furniture design legitimizes a perverse fascination with power tools. He still owns ten fingers.
