Mr. Smerling has over 25 years of experience in the field of architecture. He as been a resident of the Tallahassee area for over 20 years and has worked for both private firms and a variety of Governmental agencies as an "in-house" Architect and has thereby gained valuable insights into the needs of building owners. Since joining Johnson Peterson Architects in 2002, he has been personally responsible for a multitude of projects of various types, sizes and complexities. Mr. Smerling has extensive experience with current land planning and building permit regulations, as well as the various requirements of local, state and federal agencies. Mr. Smerling spends his time away from the office as an actor and writer in a local comedy theatrical troupe. He is an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction works of literature in a diverse array of genres and attends a wide variety of performing arts venues.
