Brad Adams | Student in Architecture

Brad Adams is a recent graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and a Business Minor.  During his senior year at UF he spent his fall semester in Vicenza, Italy.  This allowed him to travel extensively throughout Italy to places including Venice, Rome, Florence, Milan, as well as to Switzerland, and much of mainland Greece and the Greek Isles.  As this was all done with the intention of experiencing architecture, art, and the sundry cultures - including great food -  of each region, it was an extremely rewarding time for him professionally and personally and will undoubtedly impact his perspective on the world for the rest of his life.  There are two scales at which Brad’s architecture has been affected.  At the forefront of this new perspective, at the larger scale, is the importance placed on creating a sense of place and community which can enrich the lives of people living near and with one another.  Additionally, his travels instilled in him a sense of time and history not available in the relatively young United States.  This new sense of history found through materials, form, and even weathering and renovation is paramount to Brad’s understanding of architecture at a smaller scale.

In his personal life, Brad’s interests range from Bach to good Barbeque (capitalized intentionally!).  Always excited about trying new and different things, he has never cooked the same meal the same way twice, and has recently expanded his interest in music from playing classical piano since the fourth grade to taking up the violin.  His ultimate goal in this realm of his life is to compose music for a wide range of instruments, ensembles, and orchestras.  And with the support of his wonderful wife Rachel (they fell in love during their semester in Italy together), he will continue to enjoy as much of life as he possibly can.
