Azizi Arrington-Bey | Architectural Project Manager
aarrington@jparchitects.com

Azizi Arrington-Bey has been intrigued with architectural design since she was a child.  Azizi was fascinated with the transformation of two-dimensional shapes into three-dimensional forms.  This fascination led her to complete her studies with a Master in Architecture.  Her thesis focused on the poetics in architecture and how a “poetic experience” could exist in architectural design.  Azizi treasures architectural design that results in poetic details.  She appreciates design that can capture the moment, memory, and time through the incorporation of materials, forms, and textures.  She is looking forward to traveling and personally exploring the miraculous designs outside the confines of the states and mere books.

A fan of all things artistic, she specifically enjoys the art of writing, specifically poetry. In her spare time, she can be found dwelling poetically through her writing of a much inspired poem or working on her book. After graduation, Azizi explored the realm of professor.  She served as an adjunct professor at Florida A & M University and Tallahassee Community College.  Azizi enjoyed and appreciated this experience; but longed to follow her initial dream.  She joined JPA in 2006 in pursuit of her dream of becoming a licensed architect.  While Azizi misses the classroom atmosphere and the young creative minds, she finds refuge while teaching 1-2 classes at TCC in addition to serving as co-owner of a custom clothing store just outside the downtown area. These activities keep her creativity flowing and provide what she seeks in life: “opportunities to simply dwell poetically.”
